Cited for "total excellence in all aspects of the relationship," Compaq and software platform supplier Rational Software Corporation have garnered a prestigious Editor's Choice Award from Outsourcing Journal.
Announced in the magazine's February 2002 issue, the award recognizes a software supply chain outsourcing partnership that has delivered the cost-savings, process improvements, and accelerated cycle times required to support Rational Software's rapid growth. The magazine reported that Compaq leveraged its experience, resources, and project management expertise "to pull the quality of Rational's manufacturing and distribution processes up to world-class level."
According to Rational's senior operations manager, Compaq was "very proactive about giving us ideas about how we could be better at what we do, and that gave us a really good feeling of having a partner instead of a vendor. . . .
