- QuickTest Professional Automation—simple record and replay automation: Without questioning the current WinRunner scope and setup, a 1:1 migration of the WinRunner scripts into QuickTest Professional will be done.
- QuickTest Professional Framework—advanced QuickTest Professional framework: Using HP best practices, a redesign of the automation framework will be done, constructed of scripts, functions, recovery scenarios, reusable actions and modified HTML reports.
- Business Process Testing Framework: This service uses HP Software’s latest functional testing technology, Business Process Testing, which embeds QuickTest Professional and Quality Center to create a sophisticated graphical framework.

WinRunner Migration service phases
Our WinRunner Migration Services follow a phased approach:
- Discovery: HP consultants discover the current WinRunner test automation implementation and get an understanding of functionality and technology of the application(s) tested.
- Analysis: The discovered implementation is analyzed and the option most fitting is proposed.
- Pilot: The assumptions of the analysis are checked, confirming that the proposed option is indeed possible, using a representative sample.
- Migration: After a successful Pilot, the rest of the test scripts are migrated.
- Hand-over: Work is transitioned to the existing test team with coaching and training.
As part of the same migration, HP Services can also help you implement best practice approaches, such as the HP Quality Model and/or Risk-Based Testing. Chose to either use your organization’s test team or outsource through HP Services offshore capabilities.
