Learn how to capitalize on sophisticated data center monitoring and management
The HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition (ISEE) Advanced Configuration transmits incidents and scheduled system information collections from monitored clients to the support point of presence (SPOP) in your data center. This data is automatically sent from the SPOP to your regional HP Support Center for reactive support in response to incidents and for proactive system monitoring.
Advanced Configuration overview
Incidents are transmitted from your monitored clients to the SPOP during regular polling intervals. You can enable and schedule the transmission of collected system information, using the SPOP Enterprise Service Console, at a time that does not conflict with your data center's peak system usage, scheduled business processes, or scheduled maintenance tasks. The process for scheduling collections is defined in:

The ISEE Advanced Configuration includes remote access for faster troubleshooting and incident resolution. This remote connectivity solution varies by contract level and is implemented by an HP Support Engineer. It is configured to allow or deny HP support personnel access to specific services and systems in your network using a Customer Access System.
For more information about the Remote Connectivity solution methods and the Customer Access System, consult your HP Account Team.

Advanced Configuration user interfaces
ISEE monitored clients are initially configured using the ISEE user interface, which is installed on each monitored client and enables you to log into any monitored client via Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Long-term client configuration and management are accomplished using the ISEE Enterprise Service Console. This interface enables you to securely log into the SPOP via Internet Explorer to schedule information collections and manage contact information for individual monitored clients, review incidents centrally, and monitor your network. A second SPOP user interface, the Software Management Application, enables automatic or manual updates of ISEE software components on the SPOP, including antivirus software updates.
Advanced Configuration installation
The ISEE Advanced Configuration is installed in your data center by an HP Support Engineer. This includes introduction of the VPN router solution for remote connectivity, installation/upgrade of the SPOP system/software, and installation/upgrade of your monitored clients. Your Support Engineer will require environment-specific hardware and network information before ordering the SPOP and VPN routers for your installation.
After Advanced Configuration installation, you may choose to install and/or upgrade ISEE monitored clients in your data center. Installation, configuration, and upgrade documentation is provided in the HP ISEE Client Installation and Upgrade Guide (pdf). During configuration of your monitored clients, you will be required to provide an entitlement identifier from your support contract. Entitlement information enables HP to deliver support to the appropriate contract level. See the HP ISEE Client Installation and Upgrade Guide for entitlement details.
