Services for Business Technology Success

Implement flexible, high-performance capabilities to leverage existing and new SAN infrastructure.

The HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services (EFS) Clustered Gateway delivers superior   file-serving performance, expandability, and availability. It is readily scalable from 2 to 16 nodes to enable a linear increase in file-serving throughput and client support. In the event of a node failure, all file serving is failed-over to the remaining nodes, and full data and cache coherency are maintained. The Gateway is built with industry-standard components, so you can leverage your existing SAN infrastructure, as well as your staff’s experience with HP ProLiant servers and the Linux or Windows Storage Server 2003 operating system.

Make the most of all these powerful features right from the start with HP EFS Clustered Gateway Installation and Startup Service, a convenient, fixed-price HP Care Pack offering. This service is included with the Initial Cluster 2-node configuration.

Count on HP Services to get your Clustered Gateway up-and-running right.

Your service starts with remotely delivered pre-installation consulting to gather vital information for planning your EFS Clustered Gateway configuration. An HP Services storage specialist reviews all devices you plan to connect to the Gateway and documents your prospective Gateway environment and all configuration settings.

Onsite activities are centered upon installation and configuration of Gateway-specific hardware according to the previously defined plan. This includes making any required configuration changes to the factory-shipped Gateway, connecting all cabling from the Gateway to your existing SAN infrastructure, and verifying that all servers can communicate over all networks and that your storage devices are presented consistently to each server.

The HP Services specialist performs installation verification testing to confirm operational essentials such as file access to each storage device from each server.

An orientation session is held to train your staff on maintaining and expanding the Gateway. Topics covered include how to use the management console, how to add new servers to an existing cluster, and how to add/modify/delete file systems.

Reap the benefits of HP storage experience and expertise.

Collaborate with HP Services to enjoy:

  • Expert configuration, on-schedule installation, and high productivity from day-one
  • Shorter time-to-results, with complex implementation and enhancement tasks handled professionally and efficiently
  • Minimized risk of disruptive installation and startup glitches
  • Peace of mind with service from award-winning HP professionals and our authorized service partners
