Step-by-step installation, configuration, and usage "how-to's"

The HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition (ISEE) Standard Configuration transmits incidents and scheduled system information collections from monitored ISEE clients in your data center. This data is automatically sent to your regional HP Support Center for reactive support in response to incidents and for proactive system monitoring.

Standard Configuration overview

Incident transmission between your ISEE monitored clients and the HP Support Center occurs during regular polling intervals. System information collection transmission is enabled and scheduled by you at a time that does not conflict with your data center's peak system usage, scheduled business processes, or scheduled maintenance tasks. The process for scheduling collections for your Standard Configuration monitored clients is defined in Chapter Three of the HP ISEE Client Installation and Upgrade Guide (pdf).

Your ISEE monitored clients are configured and maintained using the ISEE user interface. This Web-based tool is installed on each monitored client and enables you to log into any monitored client via Microsoft Internet Explorer. You can view incidents collected by monitored clients and transmitted to the HP Support Center. You can also modify the configuration of your monitored clients, including your password, company and contact information, and notification settings.

Standard Configuration installation

You can self-install ISEE Standard Configuration in your data center. Documentation for installation, configuration, and upgrade of ISEE monitored clients is provided in the ISEE Client Installation and Upgrade Guide. Please verify that any devices targeted for ISEE support are covered by your support contract and included in the ISEE Supported Products list.

During configuration of your ISEE monitored clients, you will be required to provide an entitlement identifier from your support contract. Entitlement information enables HP to deliver support to the appropriate contract level. See the first chapter of the HP ISEE Client Installation and Upgrade Guide for details.

Hardware and network information needs to be collected before you obtain or install the ISEE software. Carefully follow the steps outlined in Chapter One of the HP ISEE Client Installation and Upgrade Guide before proceeding to the ISEE software download page.
