CIFS/9000
CIFS/9000 file sharing server software provides SMB/Samba file sharing on your HP 9000 system. Our technicians remotely install and configure the CIFS/9000 server and establish one file share on the system that can be accessed by appropriately authenticated network clients.

EMS/9000
Our engineers remotely install or upgrade EMS/9000 and Diagnostic software on HP-UX to allow you to proactively monitor your system for hardware failure. If the software is already installed, HP reviews all the EMS events that were reported to locate potential problems that were logged but not addressed.

IDS/9000
HP Services remotely installs and configures the IDS/9000 Intrusion Detection System on your HP9000 system. IDS/9000 enhances network security by monitoring each configured system on the network for tell-tale signs of intrusion, including buffer flow race attacks. The default templates match activity that may indicate buffer overflow attacks, race condition attacks, unwanted “setuid” files, changes to log files, and other typical security breach indicators.

Ignite-UX Server
This ValuPack Ignite-UX Server service provides for configuration of the Ignite-UX software for network-based backups and system image replication on an HP 9000 system. Once configuration is complete, the Ignite-UX Server is tested by creating a network recovery image of a test client and installing from a system image.

Restrictive SAM User
HP Services configures up to four restricted SAM users who can execute specified superuser tasks without root access to your system. This allows users to perform tasks such as system backups, killing processes, or managing the HP-UX print spooler without full access to your system.

Virtual Partition (vPar)
HP Services professionals install and configure Virtual Partitions (vPars) on your system, providing the ability to execute several operating environments on a single server independently of one another. We configure and test up to four Virtual Partitions. A basic installation of the HP-UX operating system is used on the primary partition.
