IPFilter/9000
An HP Services professional remotely installs and configures IPFilter/9000 on a qualified HP 9000 system, verifying that the software starts up and shuts down without error. The “mkfilters” utility is used to create a default set of filtering rules that block all packets that might belong to an IP spoofing attack, all packets with IP options, and all packets that are shorter than the legal length.
|

DNS
HP Services remotely configures a qualified system to serve as a Master (primary) DNS server to provide host-name resolution for a single domain. We then configure a test system to serve as a DNS client that can complete name resolution using the DNS server.
|

NTP
This service provides for remote installation and configuration of NTP software on an HP 9000 system that will serve as a broadcast server in your network; configuration of an NTP client to use the NTP server for network time synchronization; and testing of time synchronization after a 48-hour interval.
|

LAN Card
HP remotely configures a newly installed LAN card on a qualified HP 9000 system residing on a pre-existing network. Service includes installation of appropriate drivers and software and configuration of basic network parameters such as IP address, netmask, and subnet mask. HP also tests the card for connectivity.

Modem
Get all the help you need for proper configuration of a modem to send/receive calls on a suitably qualified HP 9000 system. An HP Services professional remotely configures, or walks you through configuration of, device files and other configuration files that enable your system to listen to the modem port for incoming calls and respond with a “Login:” prompt. Deliverables include remote testing to verify network connectivity.

TFTP Server
Configure a file-sharing application that lets you efficiently upgrade, backup, and manage your network environment. HP modifies the “/etc/services” file to contain the proper port information for TFTP; modifies the “/etc/inetd” file to ensure that the HP-UX system recognizes TFTP as a UDP protocol and that the proper daemon is initiated at system startup; sets up the HP-UX system with a default “inted.sec” file system administrators can use to restrict access to the server's TFTP processes; and sets up the home directory for all TFTP sends and requests.

Auto Port Aggregation
HP Services remotely installs and configures HP Auto Port Aggregation (APA) software, which provides improved server access, increased redundancy, and protection from link outages, while cutting network management complexity. We recommend and verify the most suitable load-balancing algorithm for your environment. And we test and demonstrate your configuration’s functionality.
