Get your SAN implementation right - right from the start.

Storage has become essential to the growth and agility of your business. That's why choosing an HP SAN as your data management solution is a smart business decision. But your SAN can deliver the results you need only if it is implemented correctly and integrated with your business.

SAN installation, startup, and integration call for specialized expertise in planning and design, hardware configuration, network software installation, and operability verification. Your SAN needs to be configured for high performance and availability. And it needs to be integrated with your applications, management environment, and business processes.

HP SAN Solution Service encompasses all the activities required for a successful implementation. You get a powerful storage solution up-and-running quickly and efficiently, with minimal disruption and maximum peace of mind. You guard against unexpected compatibility problems. And you realize rapid returns on your SAN investment.

Meeting your SAN implementation needs - from straightforward to complex

SAN Solution Service lets you purchase as much or as little support as your business demands. Choose from three service levels:

Level 1: basic SAN deployment - This option covers your entry-level disk array solution with:

  • Comprehensive SAN implementation strategy and planning
  • Hardware and software installation and configuration
  • Integration of the installed disk array in your SAN environment
  • Firmware verification
  • SAN testing
  • Solution handover to your staff

Level 2: heterogeneous SAN integration - This service level focuses on integrating your SAN into a complex, heterogeneous storage environment. It brings you all Level 1 features, plus:

  • Project Management: a dedicated project manager determines your special requirements and customizes a statement of work defining the precise support you'll receive
  • Environment analysis: including your current storage solution and related system configuration and operating system
  • SAN architecture design: based on your system architecture and configurations, network and datacenter environment, and business requirements, an HP consultant determines an optimal SAN design
  • Solution installation, configuration, and verification
  • Knowledge transfer and solution handover to your staff

Level 3: integration of applications - This service level includes all Level 2 features, plus:

  • Smooth integration of key business applications such as SAP or Oracle into your SAN-based infrastructure
  • Review and testing of the configuration and functionality of your new integrated environment with your IT staff

Optional ongoing SAN support

HP Services can provide ongoing support for your new environment. Service options include access to HP Technical Support Engineers to meet your specific business requirements, onsite services to resolve technical problems, advocacy within HP through your technical account manager, installation of software patches and bug fixes, and maintenance of your system topology and account profile to expedite problem resolution.
