Make sure your network - and your organization - are ready for converged data and telephony.

Before you build an IP telephony solution, you need a clear understanding of its impact on your current network and applications - and the steps necessary to ensure a successful deployment.

HP's customized IP Telephony Assessment Service provides a detailed review of your LAN technology, capacity, and deployment. An HP Services network consultant works with you to identify your current network topology, technology, traffic types, and volumes - and to determine how you can deliver consistent Quality of Service (QoS). Results are documented in your Assessment Report.

HP IP Telephony Assessment Service includes:

  • Voice-over-IP network audit and analysis - Assesses the impact of IP telephony on your current network and its applications via a site survey and physical inventory and documentation of your applications and services; protocols; LAN hubs, switches, and routers; cabling and outlets; firmware/IOS and OS; and current telephony system and PBX type, features, and services. Audit encompasses security, VPN, and management studies in addition to general capacity planning.

  • Recommendations - Based on your audit and analysis, HP Services network consultants identify areas requiring attention and make recommendations such as topology or technology changes for minimizing impact on your infrastructure.

  • Roadmap - Describes the steps required to prepare your network for IP telephony, including a migration plan for updating hardware and software or implementing QoS or a new IP routing scheme with minimum impact on your users. Identifies risks and dependencies in each step, recommends the order in which each dependency should be addressed, suggests migration tools and techniques, and prioritizes migration activities.
