Assess and measure the agility needs and IT responsiveness of your enterprise.

IT support has traditionally been measured on these three things: Cost. Quality. Risk. But what businesses really need IT to do now - mitigate the uncertainty of change - has always been deemed unmeasurable. How do you measure what hasn't happened yet? You can measure delays of all sorts but how do you measure the inflexibility that caused them? You can measure satisfaction but how do you measure the quickness necessary to anticipate it?

Working for the last two years with the prestigious INSEAD business school, HP has developed a realistic method for measuring the current state of a company's agility. In other words, a way to measure the heretofore unmeasurable - as part of the HP Agility Assessment Service. As part of this service, we'll help you assess the kinds of changes you handle well today, determine where infrastructure is a major gating factor, and then identify a game plan for agility improvements and investments.

The service is cost-effective and quick - usually conducted in no more than two-to-four weeks.

Three key metrics for evaluating the agility of your IT infrastructure

Unique to HP, the Agility Assessment Service is built around these three qualifiers:

  • Time
In practical terms, how long does it take a company to start a new business segment or react to a change in a business condition? Most commonly: How long does it take for a new product to be established and recognized across the company's entire IT infrastructure, including all the relevant applications and business processes?

  • Range
The second measure is the depth and breadth of change the company can introduce and manage successfully. This includes business processes, organizational boundaries, and all types of technology. Going back to the new product introduction: Do all the required changes in the company show up at every level where they should or just within one small segment or business unit?

  • Ease
How much effort is expended in making a change to the infrastructure, an application, or a complex solution? Can all the data surrounding a new product introduction be found with just a few mouse clicks?

Obtaining the ultimate state of fitness - with business and IT synchronized to capitalize on change

The Agility Assessment Service begins with an in-depth examination of the ability of your infrastructure to support external and internal changes needed in your core business processes. To help ensure a broad perspective, several organization levels are surveyed, including CIO, IT managers and technologists, and selected line-of-business managers.

Moving into a structured workshop setting, HP Services agility experts present your agility analysis. Actionable outcomes include:

  • Agility profile that identifies problematic processes and infrastructure elements within your company
  • Planning and investment priorities
  • Roadmap for change and a clear plan of action

With the results of your Agility Assessment in hand, you'll have the information you need to make sound strategic decisions about the improvement of your IT infrastructure.
