Automobile manufacturers in Japan, the U.S. and Europe are expanding their business in China by launching joint business ventures and alliances with Chinese manufacturers. Nissan Motor Company established a joint venture business, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., with a Chinese company, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, to promote sales of cars manufactured in China. Nissan is also expanding its sales network for “imported cars” manufactured in countries other than China, including Japan, by using the Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (NCIC) as a sales branch.
